Charlie started jewelry in 1968. He lives very close to the Hopi reservation in AZ. His overlay jewelry is a mixture of both Hopi and Navajo designs. Many of his designs come from his traditional lifestyle. His cut-out work and contrast of color is very amazing.

Stone: Turquoise Moutain Turquoise

Turquoise Mountain turquoise mining started in 1970's. The color is light-to-high blue with both webbed and non-webbed matrix. Birdseye describes stones from this mine that show areas of light blue circled with darker blue matrix, resembling the eye of a bird. Even though this peak is part of the Kingman Mine, it is considered a classic mine in its own right, because the turquoise is so different in appearance.
